We've always said it, "Beer folks is special folks."
No other beverage producers have the chance to mix and match the number of ingredients as brewers do. They are, in essence, the mad scientists of the beverage world...And WE are their minions. This is the time when brewers and enthusiasts have a chance to make a difference...as Friar Tuck once said,

"[Hops] is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about... BEER." -Friar Tuck, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, 1991

So if you fashion yourself a freethinking, equal opportunity, imbiber, this is the week to go from a newbie to a geek; and a time to puff your chest out proudly while doing so. The conventional need not approve, apply or enter.

May 14 - 20, 2012 is the official ACBW week this year. We just happen to be hosting a 4-course beer dinner on Thursday, May 17 plus we'll be pouring all Florida brews starting today.
